Former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal emphasised, “When Trump imposed tariffs on India, instead of retaliating, the Modi government went further and removed the 11% duty on American cotton. Why did we weaken ourselves? India, with its 140 crore people, is the world’s biggest market. Every American company wants to enter India and sell here. Behind PM Modi stand 140 crore Indians. When America imposed 50% tariffs on us, PM Modi should have retaliated by imposing 100% tariffs on American cotton. Trump would have had to bend. Trump is a coward, timid and weak. Wherever countries showed him strength, he had to bow down.”
